Strap on your lederhosen, grab your stein, and get ready for some fun! This year's Oktoberfest General Meeting and campout is back at Liberty Glen campground. Located in the hills above over the lovely Lake Sonoma, this campground feels remote but is ideally situated to the Bay Area and is only accessible by great motorcycle roads. So bring your appetite for fun Sonoma County riding as well as a great German influenced dinner and cold drink, you're not going to want to miss this one...
For this Oktoberfest the Board of Directors and some members are cooking and putting on the spread for the Membership.
Dinner for members is free! But in order to be confirmed for the dinner, you must register by end of day, Sunday, October 22nd.
Non members, add $15 to the camping fee for dinner.
Meet for breakfast at 8:00 at Eduardo's Restaurant, 4200 Redwood Hwy, San Rafael. Hit the road at 9:00. Be sure to gas up ahead of time.
Monthly BOD meeting. All club members are invited to see the BOD in action, and to bring any comments or suggestions to the Board at the end of the meeting.
Thanks Kevin Coleman for contributing this great route! We will be starting at Country Waffles in Livermore and ending up at Sauced BBQ, also in Livermore. Expect about three hours of fun riding covering some great country. Come out and enjoy a leisurely ride with fellow riders.
And remember, we are always looking for SSBR ideas and contributions. Have an idea? Let Nick Gloyd know: click here
This month we head down to an open section of the Big Sur coastline, not affected by the landslides currently blocking Hwy 1.
We will be meeting for breakfast at the Fremont Black Bear Diner.
The destination is a great coastal campground located at: 69345 Cabrillo Hwy, Big Sur, CA 93920 We have Group site 3.
Don't miss this event, the ride down to the coast, once we clear the Bay Area, is fantastic!
Winter meeting hours will be in effect: 4:00 P.M. start time
Call it what you want - Christmas, Hanukkah, or another name all together, but we call it this: BMWNorcal's End of Year Member Party!
So save the date! This year we shall revel and enjoy a festive evening at Skates at the Bay, a great venue at the end of Berkeley Point, affording unique and stunning views of San Francisco Bay. The party begins at 5:00 PM for drinks (yes, a cash bar), with dinner at 6:30 PM. In addition to fine dining we will be enjoying our usual White Elephant gift exchange and there's no telling what gifts may turn up, except of course, a certain tool kit! So start thinking of that "special" gift you want to share and register for this last get-together of the year!
This year the club is covering half the cost of the dinner.
This month's Member Meeting / Campout is at the lovely Salt Point State Park! We've got the Warren Group Site within the Gerstle Campground. We can expect a mild climate and the camping is in a sheltered spot with a fire ring. Life will be good!
The ride starts at the Suisun City Black Bear Diner, and as usual we'll meet there by 8:00 AM for a hearty breakfast. Just what we'll need to fortify us for the ride ahead. Don't want to eat? Be there by 9:00 AM to join in on the ride.
It's time! Death Valley beckons and we must ride! Are you up for the adventure? There is no organized club ride down from the Bay Area, but get together with friends and ride your own adventure...
Note - this year we are a week earlier than usual.
