Cancelled Dec 2022 Club Meeting-Fremont Peak State Park

RAINOUT!

We cancelled this month's campout given the recent rain and expected storm most of Saturday.  

We are headed to Fremont Peak State Park west of Hollister, CA for our Dec Club Meeting and Campout.  The last time we visited it was a rip-roaring good time! 

This park features expansive views of Monterey Bay, from its hiking trails in the grasslands of the higher peaks of the Gavilan Range. Other views include the San Benito Valley, Salinas Valley, and the Santa Lucia Mountains east of Big Sur. Pine and oak woodlands in the park are home to many birds and mammals. There are camping and picnic facilities in the park. 

The breakfast is at Sharp Park Restaurant, Pacifica @ 8am.   The ride is approx. 140 miles and will take 4 hours without stops so be prepared to leave at 9 AM sharp with a full tank of gas and knowledge of the route, destination and stopping points, etc and GPS files loaded.  Route Sheets and GPS files will be provided after registration.

There are plenty of stops along the way for breaks and provisions.  We plan to stop at Gizdich Ranch for a short Lunch.  You can also head to Freedom Meat lockers for great dinner supplies. We have a break at Mason Taylor Ranch.  A grocery stop is planned for Windmill Market 

Route Sheets and GPX files will be provided in your registration email.
