Yesterday I noticed the passenger footrest pin was pulling out. Upon inspection I found that the retaining clip was missing. Looking at the other 3 footrests I found that ALL the clips were missing!  The obvious danger is the pin pulling out and loss of footrest while riding, specially standing!

A quick search found a service letter from BMW in the UK to all owners but nothing in the US. My dealership doesn’t seem to be aware.
