Orland Buttes group camp.

The April 12 pre-ride found full lakes, the hills from Stoneyford to Sites covered in deep green grass and fields carpeted with wildflowers like we haven't seen in years. With luck and a little rain there will be some left for our ride. Come out and see some of the most beautiful country in California while it's still lush and before it's flooded behind the Sites dam.

The unpaved Mendocino National Forest prevents a tour from the east, so the ride will follow the west side of the Valley, with a warmup in the North Bay. There will be a lunch stop, but there is no catering at the site. Instead, riders are invited to ride 12 minutes to Orland for dinner (the highly-recommended Farwood restaurant is in the GPS file) or shop at the Stoneyford stop for food to cook onsite. The site has covered tables, a large cooking grill and a fire pit, and plenty of flat camping.
